The Super Eagles winger continued with his impressive vein of form against Sao Tomé and Principe as he grabbed a goal and an assist
Moses Simon said he considered it a big honour to wear the Super Eagles’ armband for the first time against Sao Tomé and Principe.
Simon led the team to an emphatic win against the small island nation on Monday as Nigeria made history in Agadir.
The Nantes winger started from where he stopped against Sierra Leone by assisting Victor Osimhen to head in the curtain raiser.
He also grabbed the team’s second as he bundled home an Osimhen toe-poke assist and had a great evening overall.
Simon who played four straight games for the Super Eagles from the friendly tour in the US down to Nigeria and to Morocco hailed God for the achievement.
It’s also a perfect end to the season for the winger after winning the French Cup with the Yellow Canaries and qualifying for the Europa League for next season.
Other than Osimhen with 5 goals, Bassey had the highest contributions in the first two games of the qualifiers for the Super Eagles with three assists and a goal.
