Super Eagles forward has sent an emotional message to Union Berlin fans

Taiwo Awoniyi has sent a message to the fans of Union Berlin after completing a club record move to Nottingham Forest.

Awoniyi in a tweet on Saturday appreciated the Unioniers for being the key to the glorious achievements of the capital club.

“To everyone @fcunion
Unionier, you always the key to the glorious time and achievements of this great club
Feels very hard to say goodbye but will always be supporting from here
Goodluck and all the best for the future Union Berlin. Es war mir eine Ehre mit euch zu alle”

The Super Eagles forward has the highest number of goals in a single season in Union Berlin history when he scored 15 goals last season in 31 games.

He joined Union Berlin in 2021 and did enough to earn the club’s fans’ cult hero status and even earned a song from the Unioners in appreciation for his great strides at the club.
