Rangers last week announced they won’t be renewing the contract of Super Eagles defender after the expiration of the last one

Super Eagles star, Leon Balogun may be staying in Britain if those who love his football and personality are to be considered.

The former Mainz defender won the Scottish League title with Scotland as they stopped Celtic from doing the 10th in 2021.

He was also an important of the Gers’ first Scottish Cup win in 13 years at the end of this season and played a part to Rangers run to the Europa League finals.

Rangers fans received the news of his release with mixed reactions as majority suggested he should have gotten a new contract.

One of those in awe of the defender’s positive spirit and personality was is Rangers’ former assistant coach under Steven Gerrard, Michael Beale.

Beale, who is now QPR manager said Balogun left a good impression on him as he enjoyed working with him and credited how he treated his teammates at the club.

“Leon Balogun was outstanding for RangersFC – both on the pitch but also around the changing room. He is a “personality” leader who gives his team mates so much positivity and guidance on a daily basis. Take a bow,” he tweeted.
