Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro was displeased with how easily the team gave possession away to the Mexicans on Sunday morning
Peseiro was seen in a video by the NFF TV overseeing players training in Houston, Texas, United States.
The Super Eagles will face World Cup-bound Ecuador on Friday morning as they hope to record the first win under the Portuguese coach.
Peseiro had hailed the team’s character against Mexico but said they ceded too much possession to El Tri in the first half of the game, and is looking to plug the holes if the session seen is anything to go by.
The players were taken through their paces on how to receive passes under pressure and looked sharper, having rested from the long hours of travel.
The Super Eagles players looked jaded and fatigued in the game against Mexico but have now had days to rest as the team prepares for the friendly and the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers against Sierra Leone and Mauritius.
“In the first half, Mexico was much better than us. In the second half, I think we had more balance. We had better control of the ball. Our team cannot stay everytime but we had much control of the ball,” Peseiro had stated.
