Another successful season in the German top-flight promises a European qualification
Taiwo Awoniyi’s Union Berlin are one game away from sealing their place in the UEFA Europa League for next season.
Union have had a stellar season by their standards, thrashing city rivals, Hertha Berlin in the league and having their place amongst the league’s best sealed for the second time in a row.
Currently sitting 6th on the log, helped by Taiwo Awoniyi’s record of 13 goals, the capital club are targeting a final day victory over VFL Bochum to seal their Europa League spot for the second season running.
They have already booked a slot to Europe with the Europa Conference League being the worst situation for Union.
Awoniyi was at Union on loan last season and helped the Iron Ones this season after completing a permanent switch at the beginning of the season.
With Premier League interests intensifying, especially from London where West Ham have been linked, Awoniyi at the moment has his eyes set on helping Union pull another Europa League qualification.
He’s revered at the club and already has a song with Union Berlin fans and is fast growing into a respected cult hero at the club.
