The Super Eagles laboured through a difficult situation in Arlington but showed enough promise for the future and the NFF President had his verdict to give
Amaju Pinnick, President of the Nigeria Football Federation has expressed positivity with the performance of the Super Eagles in the game against Mexico.
Nigeria lost the game narrowly after a William Troost-Ekong own goal helped El Tri restore their lead barely three minutes after Cyriel Dessers leveled for the Super Eagles.
The players however gave a spirited performance and despite their obvious fatigue and depletion of the squad, the ones who had the nod gave it their all.
Pinnick, impressed by the team spirit said;
“I am happy with what we put up out there. It was the first time after the disappointment of the World Cup playoff and you can say this is a makeshift team, while Mexico had their full-strength squad out there,”
“I like what I saw today and I have confidence that we have appointed the right coach that can restore the glory of the Super Eagles and make them start winning once more.”
It was Peseiro’s first game in charge and he said he was proud of the team’s performance too.
