“Give him an extension” – fans call for Super Eagles star’s contract renewal

The Super Eagles defender has been outstanding whenever he has been on duty for the Gers, and he is fast becoming a fans’ favorite

Rangers fans have taken to social media to request the renewal of Nigerian defender Leon Balogun’s contract.

The former Brighton and Hove man moved to Ibrox in 2020, but he has hardly ever out a for wrong. Balogun has made 65 appearances for Rangers in his two-year stay at the club, and he has been outstanding.

However, the 33-year-old is out of contract by the end of May. Nonetheless, Rangers could still trigger a one-year extension in his contract.

Following Balogun’s brilliant performance in the finals of the Scottish Cup against Hearts, where he maintained a strong front even in extra time, Rangers fans took to Twitter to request a renewal of the center-back’s contract.

Balogun will be 34 by June, and if his contract is extended, he could be one of the oldest players in the Rangers squad.
