As the 2021/22 campaign draws to an exciting conclusion, a Nigerian star is being recognised for his consistency, quality, and commitment to the cause of club and country
Statistics have shown that Nigeria international Joe Aribo has been one of the most consistent performers in the world over the 2021-2022 season.
According to The Athletic, Rangers midfielder Aribo is second for games played this season behind only Liverpool’s Colombian star Luis Diaz.
The Super Eagles midfielder has featured in 64 matches for club and country this campaign, the most of his professional career.
Fifty-four of those appearances have come in Rangers’ colours, as the Gers pushed Celtic for the Premiership title and have reached the final of both the Europa League and the Scottish Cup.
Internationally, Aribo featured three times for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations as the Eagles were eliminated in the first knockout round in Cameroon.
The 25-year-old also accumulated 576 minutes across seven Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers, as Nigeria missed out on the final ticket to West African neighbours Ghana.
If he keeps healthy and avoids any injury, Aribo could add to his tally as Rangers face German does Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final and Hearts in the Scottish Cup final.
