The Europa Conference League finalists have been impressed with the Nigerian star’s performances, and they want to secure his services permanently
Former Dutch Eredivisie champions Feyenoord have indicated their willingness to pay Genk’s €4.5million evaluation of Cyriel Dessers, but they are yet to agree on personal terms with the Super Eagles star.
Dessers left Genk to join Feyenoord on loan last summer. And the 27-year-old has had a brilliant campaign with the Stadionclub. Dessers scored nine league goals in 27 appearances, but it was on the continent that he shone like a million stars.
Dessers recorded ten goals in the maiden edition of the Europa Conference League, leading Feyenoord to the final, where they suffered a painful 1-0 defeat at the hands of a Mourinho-tutored Roma.
Feyenoord are interested in keeping the Super Eagles striker, and Destentor reports that Feyenoord technical director Frank Arnesen has revealed that the club is willing to meet Genk’s €4.5million valuation.
However, the only thing that could delay the deal is Dessers’ wage demands.
Dessers’ loan at Feyenoord expires in June, and the Stadionclub would look to hasten negotiations to avoid losing their star man.
