Ejuke impresses in season finale; Beniangba, Yusuf net match-winning goals

Here are Soccernet.ng’s highlights of a few eye-catching performances from Nigerian footballers beyond the country’s shores on Saturday.

In the Slovakian Super Lig, young Nigerian midfielder Isa Yusuf was the difference-maker as Spartak Trnava ended the 2021-22 season with a narrow 1-0 victory over DAC 1904 at the Štadión Antona Malatinského.

Spartak have sealed a fourth-place finish on the league table and have booked a place in the qualifying rounds of the Europa Conference League.

Still In the Slovakian top-flight, three Nigerians were involved for Trencin as the home side forced a 2-2 draw with Zemplín Michalovce.

Nigerian defender Reuben Yem assisted Trencin’s first goal, midfielder Philip Azango featured from start to finish, while youngster Abdul Musa Zubairu was an 84th-minute substitute.

In Russia, Super Eagles winger Chidera Ejuke recorded his fifth assist of the season as CSKA Moscow handed a comprehensive 4-0 defeat to Rostov at the VEB Arena in the final match of the 2021-22 Premier League campaign.

Aside from his assists, Ejuke managed five goals to help CSKA finish fifth on the league table. Zenit St Petersburg have been crowned the winner of the league title.

In Norway’s Eliteserien, two Nigerian stars were on the scoresheet as Lillestrom romped to a brilliant 4-1 win at Sandefjord.

Jos-born defender Igoh Ogbu – for his third in eight appearances – and striker Akor Adams – for his fourth in as eight matches – scored the visitors’ final two goals as they returned to the top of the league table.

In Egypt, 18-year-old Nigerian full-back Victory Beniangba continues stunning match-winning form as he scored the only goal for El Geish in their 1-0 home triumph over El Mokawloon.

Only four days ago, Beniangba netted the match-winner as his side recorded a stunning win at Egyptian giants Zamalek.
The former Bayelsa United defender now has four goals in only six starts for El Geish.
