The Super Eagles marksman was on target and scored Nigeria’s only goal against Mexico in Arlington, Texas
KRC Genk attacker, Cyriel Dessers was happy to have scored his first international goal for the Super Eagles in the 2-1 loss to Mexico.
Dessers scored a header from a Calvin Bassey cross in the 53rd minute to help Nigeria restore parity in the game. It was his first goal in the Nigerian shirt and it happened on his full Super Eagles debut.
The attacker who had a good season the last time has been subject of a transfer merry-go-round between Genk and Feyenoord, but he has put that behind him for now to focus on the Super Eagles.
“Mexico v Nigeria, couldn’t be more proud to score my 1st international goal,” Dessers wrote in a tweet.
The forward was also impressive in the game as he provided a number of options for the coaching crew to ponder about going into the future and beginning with the next game against Ecuador.
