Snubbed Nigerian goalkeeper wants to be the best in the world

Currently plying his trade in the Israeli Premier League, the goalkeeper has been largely ignored by national selectors

Hapoel Jerusalem goalkeeper, Adebayo Adeleye has revealed his desire to be the finest goalie in the world.

Adeleye revealed this on his Twitter page on Friday and said although the dream appears too big, he wants to achieve it.

The former Nigeria U-17 goalkeeper is considered one of the best in Israel but has never represented the country at the senior level.

While his frame isn’t imposing, he makes up for his relative lack of height with great reflexes, which he has been hailed for by coaches and journalists who have seen him.

His command of area has also been hailed and he has captained his club side in some Israeli top flight games.

“Still not there yet but I’m making progress each and every day to better and be the best in the World.

“Hope my dream isn’t too big shaa?  Yes I want to be the best goalkeeper in the World,” he said.

Adeleye is doing well in the Israeli top flight, known to have been the nursery for Nigerian goalkeepers in the past.

Vincent Enyeama, Austin Ejide and Dele Aiyenugba all plied their trades in Israel and did well in the country.
