The Foxes have qualified for the semifinal of the Europa Conference League as they take a step closer to winning a first European trophy.
Kelechi Iheanacho was on for sixty-five minutes as Leicester came from behind to end PAV’s 15-game unbeaten.
Iheanacho started as the frontman in a front three alongside Harvey Barnes and Marc Albrighton.
With Leicester struggling in the first half and falling behind to an Eran Zahavi’s 27th-minute goal, they needed new ideas in the second half to make a difference.
Brendan Rodgers rang changes from the dressing room, as he withdrew both wingers – Barnes and Albrighton for more directness in the attack. Ademola Lookman and Patson Daka came on to help up Leicester’s ante and it soon paid off as they opened more opportunities.
Daka was the culprit in a one-on-one situation with Mvogo in the PSV goal after being played through by a deft Iheanacho lob. The Zambian dragged the effort wide.
Iheanacho was substituted for Ayoze Perez on the 65th minute as Rodgers added more pace into the Foxes’ attack.
Daka must have felt great relief when James Maddison scored the equaliser on the 77th minute after hitting a first-time shot from a well-worked Perez layoff.
The suckerpunch was delivered on the 88th minute as Ricardo Perreira punished PSV for not taking their opportunities when they had them.
Leicester defeated the Dutch giants 2-1 on aggregate having gotten a 0-0 draw in the first leg at the KingPower Stadium.
It’s the first time Leicester City will make it into a European semifinal.
