Iheanacho and Lookman feature for Leicester City, but late Richarlison goal boosts Iwobi’s Everton survival hopes

Super Eagles stars Kelechi Iheanacho and Ademola Lookman were decent for Leicester City, but a 93rd-minute Richarlison goal which sealed a 1-1 draw, ensures that Iwobi and his Everton teammates keep their Premier League survival hopes alive.

After beating a poor Manchester United side last week, the Toffees continued their survival battle when they welcomed Leicester City. The latter were still licking their wounds after a painful defeat at the hands of Newcastle last week.

Harvey Barnes opened the scoring for the Foxes in the fifth minute after he received a terrific long pass from James Maddison.

Despite conceding early, Everton kept their composure and ensured they saw out the first half with a one-goal deficit.

Iheanacho started the game, but he was pretty silent for most embers, as even though he spearheaded the Leicester City attack, he did not have any shot on target.

Everton was deadlier in the second half. Iwobi was instrumental for the Toffees as he helped Marshall the midfield. He also assisted with defensive work. Nonetheless, the Foxes kept it tight at the back.

Lookman was introduced in the 67th minute for goalscorer Harvey Barnes, but the Super Eagles star was not influential.

Everton created many chances, but it finally came off for them in stoppage time, as Richarlison struck a clinical finish behind Kasper Schmeichel in the Leicester City goal to ensure a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park.

The draw leaves the Toffees four points above relegation positions.
