Terem Moffi was snubbed again as Austin Eguavoen released a provisional squad ahead of the Super Eagles World Cup playoffs match against Ghana.
Moffi scored Lorient’s only goal on the night as they suffered a 4-1 drubbing in the hands of their visitors.
Romain Faivre opened the scoring in the game as early as the 5th minute before former Celtic attacker, Moussa Dembele doubled the advantage four minutes before the half hour mark.
Moffi halved the deficit at the time in the 57th minute in what was his fourth goal of the season but Cameroon international, Karl Toko Ekambi scored Lyon’s third just a minute before the hour mark.
Lorient’s attempt to reduce the scoreline hit a snag in the 78th minute when Faivre scored from a Houssem Aouar assist.
Moffi’s compatriot and Super Eagles teammate, Innocent Bonke was also dressed for the game and was on the pitch for the whole duration of the encounter.
Bonke who has been recently invited to the Super Eagles was also snubbed in Nigeria’s list for the World Cup playoffs game against Ghana.
