Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has stated that he and his teammates are ready to give their all when Nigeria take on Ghana in the first leg of the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier.
Nigeria square off against their West-African rivals this evening as they look to secure one of the five available World Cup tickets on the continent.
The tie promises to be a tough one, as asides from the World Cup ticket which is at stake, the rivalry between both countries borders across all aspects of life.
Nonetheless, Osimhen believes that with their preparation and the arsenal that Nigeria possesses, they can ensure a victory in Kumasi.
“We are ready for the encounter, we are ready to give our all,” Osimhen told Victor Modo.
“The game won’t be easy, of course, no team is easy in Africa, we have been surprised by Central Africa Republic in the past. But we are ready for this game, and we want to go there and get the win if possible.
“But we know for sure that on our home, we will try to do everything possible to get the win and qualify for Qatar.”
YThe first leg is set for the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, where the Ghanaians have not lost in a long time.
However, on paper have the better squad, and the Ghanaians have been poor recently, exiting the last Africa Cup of Nations in the group stage. The Super Eagles would look to cause more damage when both sides square off.
