Kelechi Iheanacho has gone spiritual ahead of Nigeria’s World Cup qualifier clash against the Black Stars of Ghana.
Iheanacho, who according to latest reports from the camp of the Super Eagles will not be starting on Tuesday, called on God for his mercy on the day.
“Match day. God abeg come and help us to make our country proud. OLUOMACHUKWU ge’Eme, ” he tweeted.
Nigeria will go head to head against Ghana in the second leg clash of the all-important World Cup qualifier in Abuja.
The Super Eagles need a win in the game while a score draw of any complexion is enough for Ghana to book their ticket to the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Iheanacho was involved in the first leg against Ghana at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi but had a subdued game by his standard.
The Leicester attacker has been a subject of discussions around fans of the Super Eagles, some of whom are calling for him to be dropped while others want him retained in the team.
