Odion Ighalo’s Al Hilal came out tops over Vincent Aboubakar’s Al Nassr in a Saudi Pro League contest.
The Super Eagles striker scored one and assisted one in 84 minutes in the 4-0 away win on Thursday.
Former West Brom winger Matheus Pereira scored the first goal in the 16th minute.
The Asian champions took the game beyond Al Nassr by the end of the first half as Saudi international, Salem Al Dawsari added a double in the 34th minute and in stoppage time.
Ighalo, the 2019 AFCON top scorer nailed Al Nassr’s fate in the 75th minute as he slotted a left-footed finish past Waleed Abdullah in the Al Nassr goal after being put through on goal by Pereira. He had assisted Al Dawsari’s first goal on the night. It was Ighalo’s 15th goal and second assist of the season in the league.
The former Watford attacker is growing into a nemesis for Al Nassr as he also scored against them in the cup.
Ighalo has now scored three goals and assisted once in three league games for Al Hilal and scored 12 goals in 18 games for Al Shabaab. He currently leads the scorers’ chart in the league.
