He became the first Nigerian to hit double figures in consecutive seasons in the Serie A and also grabbed the 70,000th and 70,001st goals in the Italian top flight.

The Super Eagles attacker also became just the fourth African to hit double figures in consecutive seasons in the Serie A.

His exploits have been hailed by Nigerians and Ghanaians have also joined in the reactions to Osimhen’s brace.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Ghana in a doubleheader next week with the winner of the games assured of a place in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Osimhen has been listed as one of the players to prosecute the fixture and is expected to lead the line for Nigeria when they take on the Black Stars.

The games have seen fans of both teams exchange banter and also brag about their team’s chances ahead of the game.

Nigeria and Ghana are agelong arch-rivals dating as far back as the 1960s.
