The Super Eagles are out of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, but before they went out, the players making their debut in the competition performed their initiation song
Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo performed Wizkid’s hit song, Caro, as his initiation song during Nigeria’s 2021 AFCON campaign.
Although Aribo made his debut for the Super Eagles in September 2019, the 2021 AFCON is his first major tournament for the country.
And as tradition dictates, the new players performed initiation songs, with Aribo singing Wizkid’s Caro. The 25-year-old was seen reading out the lyrics from his phone passionately as other members of the team joined him in singing.
The Rangers midfielder was one of Nigeria’s best players of their short-lived tournament. Aribo created the assist for Kelechi Iheanacho in the 1-0 win over Egypt while he was brilliant against Sudan too.
However, he could not help the team avoid defeat against Tunisia in the Round of 16, which eventually led to Nigeria’s exit.
Aribo has returned to his club Rangers following Nigeria’s exit. The former Charlton star should feature in the Gers huge clash against old rivals Celtic on Wednesday.
