Los Nervionenses are looking to strengthen their attacking options in the summer, and they are considering making a move for one of Nigeria’s in-form strikers
Spanish Laliga giants Sevilla have entered the race to sign Almeria star striker Umar Sadiq. Umar joined Almeria from Partizan Belgrade in October 2020, and since then, he has cemented his place as arguably the best player at Almeria and one of the deadliest strikers in Spanish football.
Last season, the Nigerian star scored twenty goals for the Rojiblancos in 38 Laliga2 appearances. Unfortunately, his goals were not enough to guide them to the Spanish Primera division.
This season, Umar has continued with his brilliance, scoring ten goals in 22 Laliga2 appearances.
The Super Eagles star’s brilliant displays have not gone unnoticed. Last summer, Umar was linked to Barcelona and Newcastle, but nothing concrete emerged from those talks.
However, according to Les Transfert as per Estadio Deportivo media, Sevilla have joined in the race to sign the 25-year-old striker.
Under coach Lopetegui, Sevilla have proven themselves to be title contenders. This season, they sit second, four points behind Real Madrid.
Umar’s addition to the side might give them the vital push they need to claim the Laliga title.
