Report: Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle to miss out on Super Eagles star

The three Premier League clubs are looking to boost their attacking frontline this winter and in the summer window, but they are set to miss out on their Nigerian target

Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle are set to be disappointed in their pursuit of Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen after Napoli revealed he is not for sale.

The Gunners and the Magpies are reportedly willing to pay ₦28billion (£50m) to sign Osimhen, while Jurgen Klopp’s men have identified the 23-year-old as a potential replacement for Firmino.

However, according to Corriere del Mezzogiorno, as per Tutto Napoli, Napoli are not interested in selling a player who still has three years left on his contract.

Osimhen joined Napoli from Lille for a club and African record fee of £67.6m in 2020. Although injuries have not allowed him to justify the amount Napoli paid for him, Osimhen has shown his quality when he fit.

This season, he has scored nine goals in 16 appearances for the Neapolitans despite missing two months of action due to a facial injury.
