Primera Division: Nigeria star’s hat-trick fires Culés to a 4-0 win over Betis

The champions maintained their flawless record in the league this season with another comprehensive win on Saturday afternoon

Super Falcons captain Asisat Oshoala delivered an exceptional performance as Barcelona Femeni thrashed Real Betis 4-0 in their Spanish Primera Division encounter against Real Betis.

Oshoala scored a hat-trick to take her tally in the league to 15 goals. The 27-year-old put Barcelona ahead in the 18th minute, finishing off perfectly a cross from Caroline Hansen.

Oshoala then scored Barcelona and her second in the 37th minute, tapping home a low cross from Dutch star Lieke Martens.

The Super Falcons was not done, though, as she completed her hat-trick in the 44th minute by capitalising on a defensive error to fire past Betis goalkeeper.

She could have added a fourth in the second half, but she failed to connect properly to a cross from the right, which was eventually converted by Fridolina Rolfö.

Nonetheless, it was a dominant performance from the Super Falcons captain, who is now the league’s top scorer despite missing two months of action.

With 16 goals in all competitions this season, Oshoala remains on course to break the 20 goal mark she set in the 2019/2020 campaign.

The win over Betis extends Barcelona’s lead at the top to 11 points.
