Osimhen missing from the starting eleven as Napoli clash against Salernitana

The Nigerian Superstar returned last week against Bologna, but this week, he is conspicuously missing in the starting lineup

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen did not make Napoli’s starting lineup, as they welcome Salernitana in the Italian Serie A.

The Super Eagles talisman returned to action last week after 57 days on the sidelines due to an injury he sustained in Napoli’s 3-2 loss against Inter Milan last November.

On his return, Osimhen played twenty minutes in Napoli’s 2-0 victory over Bologna. However, he was unable to make any solid impact.

After that game, the former Lille man was expected to return to full action to lead the Napoli attack as they charge for a third Scudetto title.

However, Luciano Spalletti had other ideas as the 23-year-old only made the bench. The Napoli boss opted for Belgian forward Dries Mertens.

Nevertheless, it would only be a matter of time before the Super Eagles striker returns to the starting lineup as before his injury, he was Napoli’s major outlet in front of goal
