Oshoala returns with a bang for Barcelona

The Super Falcons star returned to competitive action as La Blaugranes maintained their 100% record in the Spanish top-flight

Nigeria striker Asisat Oshoala marked her return from injury with a goal as Barcelona Femeni thrashed Granadilla 7-0 in their league encounter on Saturday evening.

Oshoala had not played for the Spanish champions since she suffered a knee injury in the UEFA Women Champions League clash against Hoffenheim on November 10.

However, she has now recovered from the injury, and she celebrated her return with a goal. Oshoala scored Barca’s final goal of the game in the 89th minute, ten minutes after coming on for Lieke Martens.

It is her 12th goal of the season in just ten league games. Meanwhile, Barcelona took the lead through a DE PISCO own goal before Caroline Hansen made it two in the 29th minute.

Fridolina Rolfö made it three in the 48th minute before Martens extended the lead with a quickfire brace in the 63rd and 69th minute.

Patri scored the sixth before Oshoala added gloss to the scoreline. The win means Jonatan Giráldez’s women maintain their 100% record in the league.

The champions are now 14 points clear of Real Sociedad, although they have played a game more.
