AFCON 2021: Osimhen, Dennis comment on Nigeria’s win against Guinea-Bissau

The two attackers withdrawal from the team have not affected the performance of the three-time Africa Champions at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and Watford forward Emmanuel Dennis have both praised the performance of the Super Eagles at the 2021 AFCON following their 2-0 win over Guinea-Bissau.

The Super Eagles have been the most impressive side in the competition so far after winning all of their three group games, scoring six goals and conceding just one from the penalty spot.

The team have managed to raise fans expectations, which was low going into the tournament due to the poor preparations and the withdrawal of four players.

Osimhen and Dennis are two of the four players that pulled out of the initial squad, and it was thought the Super Eagles were going to struggle without them.

But the three-time African champions have excelled without their in-form strikers, which has earned them praises from the two players.

Osimhen took to his Twitter to applaud the team, singling out Moses Simon, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho for special praises.

He said: Brilliant Performance From The Whole Squad! Special Mentions @Simon27Moses @Ndidi25  @67Kelechi.

Likewise, Dennis also congratulated the team for reaching the round of 16 in convincing fashion.

The Super Eagles will continue their quest for a fourth AFCON title with their second-round clash on Sunday.
