Super Eagles star sees red against AC Milan, Okoye still missing

I Bianconeri put a dent in Milan’s title hopes, but they will have to do without their Nigerian import for the next game

Forgotten Super Eagles star Isaac Success was sent off in Udinese’s 1-1 draw against AC Milan in their Serie A clash on Saturday night.

Success had been on a good run of form in the last week with two assists in Udinese’s last two games. However, it was a disappointing night for him at the Stadio Friuli on Saturday.

With Udinese leading 1-0, courtesy of Beto’s first-half strike, Success was introduced in the 70th minute for Gerard Deulofeu.

The on-loan Watford star did impress, making two key passes, although he also missed a big chance. But after Zlatan Ibrahimovic drew Milan level in added time, Success received his marching orders.

The former Granada man was sent off after initially blocking Mike Maignan from starting a quick counterattack before shoving a Milan defender, who reacted to the challenge.

Meanwhile, in the Dutch Eredivisie, Maduka Okoye missed a second consecutive league game for Sparta Rotterdam, who played a goalless draw against SC Heerenveen.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper has not played for Sparta since he walked off in the clash against Ajax with a shoulder injury.
