The 27-year-old Nigeria international seems to have found his scoring boot again after he scored in the Smurfs league encounter on Sunday
Super Eagles striker was on target for the second time in as many games after scoring in Genk’s 1-1 draw against Royal Antwerp in their Jupiler League clash at the Cegeka Arena.
Onuachu had been on a poor run of form in front of goal for almost two months, but he ended his drought in the 4-2 win over Sporting Charleroi on Thursday.
He has now backed up the goal with another strike against Antwerp. The Super Eagles striker put Genk ahead in the 32nd minute, tapping home from close range following a ball from Theo Bongonda.
It was Onuachu’s 12th league goal in 17 games this season. The ex-Midtjylland man played for 71 minutes before he was taken off for Canada international Ike Ugbo.
Onuachu’s goal appeared to be the winner until Viktor Fischer fired in eight minutes from time to secure a point for Antwerp.
Meanwhile, in France, forgotten Super Eagles striker Josh Maja was on target in his first match of the season. It has been a frustrating campaign for the former Fulham star, but he would be delighted to finally open his account.
Maja scored the tenth goal in Bordeaux’s 10-0 thrashing of Jumeaux M’Zouasia in their Coupe De France encounter.
His international compatriot, Samuel Kalu, also played his part in the clash, coming on for M’Baye Niang in the 74th minute.
