The Nigerian forward could be on the move when the transfer window opens in January, but the Swedish side are not ready to give up without a fight
Norrköping’s chief scout Stig Tornbjörnsen has stated that they would only sell their hitman Samuel Adegbenro for a significant fee.
The Nigerian hitman was the best striker in Sweden last season after rattling the net 17 times in 30 games. He was the fourth Nigerian forward to achieve such a feat in over 20 years, after Peter Ijeh, Rasak Omotoyossi, and John Owoeri.
What also made his feat special was that he scored all those goals for a team that only scored 45 goals and finished in seventh place in the Swedish Allsvenskan.
The Osogbo-born forward has barely spent a year in Sweden after joining from Norwegian side Rosenborg, but with his achievements last season, a move away from the Whiteblue could be in the offing.
However, Norrköpings chief scout Stig Tornbjörnsen has revealed that it would take a lot of money for them to let go of their star man.
“If you have an all-Swedish top scorer, there is always the risk that you could lose him,” Stig told football direct.
“We want to get as much money out as possible if we were to sell him now.”
Although there are no concrete offers for Adegbenro, he could be a good buy as he is versatile and can play in all positions in attack.
