The Nigeria international has been in top form since Giovanni Van Bronckhorst took over at the helms of affairs at Ibrox, and he has revealed what he hopes to achieve under his new boss
Super Eagles and Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo has revealed that he and his teammates at the Ibrox aim to impress new manager Giovanni Van Bronckhorst and score as many goals as possible to ensure their dominance in the Scottish Premiership.
The 25-year-old has been one of the standout performers for the Gers since their new Dutch gaffer took over after Steven Gerrard resigned to take over at Aston Villa.
Aribo has scored twice in Rangers’ last three games, including a 36th-minute opener in Saturday’s 3-0 spanking of Dundee FC.
The victory ensures that the Scottish Champions remain at the summit of the Scottish top-flight with a seven points gap, although the lead could be cut to four if Celtic win their game in hand against Dundee United.
Nevertheless, even with Rangers continuous dominance, the former Charlton man has expressed his desire to continue to put up dazzling performances alongside his teammates.
“We’re buzzing with the result first and foremost and we’re happy with the performance also,” Aribo told The Scottish Sun.
“We knew how important it was to start fast and try and get as many goals as possible.
“It has taken some time for the boys to get used to him (van Bronckhorst) but we are happy to keep pushing and prove to him.”
“We want to score as many goals as possible and put a statement out to the rest of the league,” he added.
The Gers have been in top form in the league – they are currently on a 14-game unbeaten streak and have also secured their place in the knockout stages of the Europa League despite a rough start.
