‘We have to do a bit more’- Iheanacho reacts to Leicester City’s draw against Spartak Moscow

The Foxes toiled endlessly but could only secure a point in their Europa League clash against the Russian side on Thursday night

Super Eagle star Kelechi Iheanacho has urged his Leicester City teammates to make more efforts following their draw against Spartak Moscow on Thursday.

Iheanacho said this after the game as Leicester’s chance of qualifying for the Europa League round of 16 took a major blow following the draw.

“The first half, we kept the ball well and moved it quickly, in the second half, we came out well, but it was one of those games. We have to do a bit more, Iheanacho told BT Sport via BBC Live.

Iheanacho believes Leicester were unlucky as they had enough chances to win the game, particularly from Jamie Vardy, who missed a penalty.

“Luck was not on our side, and hopefully it will be next time,” Iheanacho added.

“We missed a couple, we need to do more in the offensive side. It didn’t come tonight.”

The result leaves Leicester in third place, two points behind Napoli and one behind Legia Warsaw, but Iheanacho believes the Foxes can still qualify for the next round.

“It was a frustrating night, we conceded a sloppy goal but got back into the game.

“We were on them for the last 10 minutes, tried every means to score, but we have to focus on the next two games now. Hopefully, we will win and go through,” the former Manchester City man concluded.
