Super Eagles star is rated the third-best dribbler in the world

The Super Eagles have many talented players in European leagues, and one of them has been recognised for his dribbling skills

Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke is the third-best dribbler in the world, according to CIES Football Observatory latest rankings.

The group, which rates and values players based on statistical evidence, ranked Ejuke in third place behind Adama Traore and Nahuel Luján.

Players from 33 leagues worldwide were ranked, and only the ones that have completed 40 dribbles in the 2021/2022 season were considered.

Ejuke, who is the new darling of Super Eagles fans, has an overall score of 9.3 behind Luján (9.7) and Traore (11.2).

The Nigerian’s position is not a surprise as he is known for his quick feet, which enables him to move past opposition defences like a hot knife through butter.

He recently caught the eye of many Nigerians in the Super Eagles 2-0 win over the Central African Republic last month.

The CSKA Moscow winger is also known for his dribbling skills, and he is the seventh-fastest player in the newly released FIFA 22.

Ejuke has scored four goals and registered two assists in 13 games for CSKA this season.

    • Only very young players can't win matches without powerful experienced players.

Most of us Nigerians crtize out of sentiments .
Which national team in this world would have allowed the likes of Vincent Eyema, Mikel Obi ,Victor Mosses and Odion igalo, etc to leave as early as the time they did.
Is Ronaldo,Messi,Aguero, Cavani, Di- Maria and Zlatan, etc not still playing for national team of their birth.
We would say they play well for clubs, are our own not doing well too inspite of home and foreign critisms.

We were destroyed when JJ Okocha and our press started that critism in the last world cup and it was unnecessary calling out Mikel , Victor and others for problem that was obviously a technical one and partly goalkeeping.

Prior to the world cup,Nigerians and our press decided to join Oliseh to play politics with Eyeama who was a safe hand and we went with our young goalkeeper .But when he did his best and we lost,no one want to take blame instead ,we all started blaming players .

Untill we stop over sabi ,stop press biases against Nigerians playing outside , we may not win .The team has to grow and that will take years .The current guys are too young to be experiencing massive wins against experienced national teams.

      • The likes of victor mose, ighalo ,etc i heard left the national team willingly ,,so why blaming any on that

      • Nigerian players like about their age,the whites you just mentioned are still young and vibrant, not the old guys in their 40's who hardly can do anything meaningful with their foot.

  • Yes, the super Eagles as a team is maturing, we are having quality options in the attack, midfield and the defence. My major concern now is in the goal keeping department. We have to search more and do more for a solid and reliable safe hands for the team.

  • The teams major challenges is in the defense, the two central defenders Ekong and Balogun has one problem or the other,Ekong sometimes is forgetful and to me still lacking big time match experience like the likes of Silver,Van Dyike etc while Balogun is ageing thereby reducing in pace, although, experience but he needed a good fast pact cover up...not to talk of Emeruo who is having poor playing time..so you can see that our defence is a problem

  • We have a quality players but we are not unite ourselves as a team, we have no government. That is why we are lacking of everything in Nigeria Nigeria

    • Having someone the younger players can look up to and be motivated by ain't a bad idea. Problem is how to function as a team in the coming world cup tournament. Minimal loopholes across board - defence, midfield and forward is what the coach need to work on.

  • Ighalo coming to super eagles have no meaning why we have younger players in front such as Victor oshimen, Paul onachu, senior man kelechi iheanacho etc. And I think the coach is confused. Why don't he call samuel kalu who is the most experience winger in super eagles

  • Everybody is looking at the job description of Rohr the wrong way, you might be surprised to know that he is more of players' contractor or agent than a coach... his strategy and technical input both on and off the pitch is suspect but smacks of the antics of a football agent.

  • We need to understand that football is not by age but by ability if Ighalo has something to offer then he's welcome. We need experienced players. And for me Rohr should start using 3-4-3 or 3-4-1-2 because we have problem in defense. For example
    1. In defense : Ekong ,Balogun and Awaziem/Akpoguma
    2. In midfield: Zaidu (or Jamilu) , Ndidi , Onyeka( or Aribo) ,and Aina (or ebuehi)
    3. In Attack : Ejuke/Musa , Osimhen (iheanacho, Ighalo and Onuachu as Sub), and Chukwueze/Simon. that is if the formation is 3-4-3 but in the case of 3-4-1-2 He can use Iheanacho, Iwobi or Aribo as an Attacking Midfielder with 2 strikers upfront.

  • Ejuke is very good on the ball and as such outsmarts opponents....we need a BETTER coach to steady this ship....the boys are talented..
