Super Eagles receive huge boost ahead of the game against Liberia, Cape Verde

The three-time African champions have received a boost ahead of the two qualifying games against the Lone Stars and Blue Sharks

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has handed the Super Eagles a massive boost ahead of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde later this month.

Osimhen was initially a doubt for the two games after picking up a calf injury ahead of Napoli’s clash against Salernitana last Saturday.

The injury ruled him out of the clash against The Garnets and the Europa League win over Legia Warsaw on Thursday.

However, Osimhen has now returned to full training, handing Nigeria a boost ahead of the two crucial World Cup qualifiers.

The former Lille man, who has been Napoli’s best player this season, is expected to feature for the Neapolitans in their Serie A game against Hellas Verona at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Sunday.

This is good news for Nigeria as they can now rely on their star striker for the game against Liberia and Cape Verde.

Osimhen has scored two goals for Nigeria in the 2022 World Cup Qualifying campaign. The Super Eagles need just a win and a draw from the two games to seal their place in the final playoff round.
