The Club Brugge flop was once again the hero for his side just days after he grabbed the winner against Jose Mourinho’s side
David Okereke grabbed the only goal of the game as Venezia secured a brilliant away win at Bologna in an Italian Serie A clash on Sunday.
The Club Brugge loanee netted the winning goal for Venezia in their thrilling 3-2 triumph at home to AS Roma just before the international break. And the Nigerian forward was once more clinical for the newly-promoted side at the Stadio Renato Dell’Ara.
With the tie locked at one-all with an hour gone, Okereke raced on to a through-pass to face the opposing goalkeeper one-on-one and he showed his composure before picking his spot and sending his right-footed shot into the net.
Following his €8.2 million move to Club Brugge from Spezia two years, Okereke failed to impress with the Belgian champions and was considered surplus to requirements before he returned to Italy on loan this summer.
The 24-year-old has, however, been a revelation for Venezia for whom he already has four goals and an assist in 12 appearances.
His latest effort seals all three points for his team and takes them to 13th on the Serie A table with 15 points, seven above the relegation zone.
