Raphael Onyedika signs new contract with FC Midtjylland

Nigerian prospect Raphael Oyedika has put pen to paper for Danish outfit FC Midtjylland. The 20-year-old midfielder has extended his contract with the club following an impressive start to the 2021/21 season.

The club’s official website disclosed the news of Raphael Onyedika’s contract extension. Onyedika’s new contract is expected to run until the summer of 2026.

The defensive midfielder, who has been in excellent form, has scored three goals and registered one assist in 24 appearances this season.

Onyedika’s performance was so good that it earned him a nomination for the October young player of the year award in the Danish Super Liga.

The youngster is seen as a replacement for another Nigerian Frank Onyeka —who played for FC Midtjylland before moving to Brentford last summer.

On the International stage, Raphael Onyedika is yet to make his debut for the Super Eagles. Although he is just 20, Gernot Rohr’s side will surely be keeping close tabs on the youngster.
