FIFA rankings: Nigeria’s position remain unchanged ahead of playoff draws

The three-time African champions maintained their position in the latest FIFA coca-cola rankings released on Friday

Nigeria’s Super Eagles stay in 36th position in the November FIFA rankings. Although the Super Eagles gained 0.60 points, it was not enough to move them up from their position in October.

The three-time African champions also remain the fifth-best nation in Africa. The Super Eagles played two games in the latest window, winning against Liberia and playing a draw against Cape Verde.

The results from those games sealed their place in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers playoff draws, where they are among the five seeded teams.

Meanwhile, Senegal are still the number one ranked team on the continent, but Morocco has usurped Tunisia in second place, with the Carthage Eagles now third.

African champions Algeria are fourth, with Nigeria rounding up the top five.

Overall, Belgian remain the number one ranked nation in the world, but are only just a few points ahead of Brazil in second place.

France remained third, while England moved up to fourth after Italy dropped to sixth. Lionel Messi’s Argentina rounded up the top five.
