Unpaid Salaries: Good news for Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr

The German tactician is owed a backlog of salaries, but he is set to be finally paid ahead of the clash against the Central African Republic

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is finally set to be paid a huge part of the salaries he is owed. A source from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) told Soccernet that the German tactician would be paid seven out of the eight months he is owed.

Rohr has been working without pay for over eight months, but the source confirmed that the former Burkina Faso manager will be paid in time just before Nigeria’s 2022 World Cup Qualifier against The Central African Republic.

According to the source, NFF’s partner Aiteo, who are responsible for paying the coaches, have agreed to pay seven months of the German tactician’s salary.

Likewise, the team’s goalkeeper coach Alloy Agu and assistant coach Joseph Yobo will also receive their salaries.

The team is currently preparing for the World Cup Qualifying doubleheader against CAR. The Super Eagles host Les Fauves at the Teslim Balogun on October 7 before travelling to Douala for the second leg three days later.

A win in both games will all but seal Nigeria’s place in the final playoff round.
