The 25-year-old was one of the Gers best players in their Europa League clash last night, and that might be down to the conversation he had with the Liverpool legend
Super Eagles star Joe Aribo has said that he had a conversation with his coach Steven Gerrard on how he can improve his game.
Aribo had one of his best games this season as Rangers picked up their first win in the Europa League with a 2-0 win over Brondby at the Ibrox.
The former Charlton star made two key passes and had a whopping 92% passing accuracy in the game against the Danes.
He also had one shot on target while he also made six successful dribbles. Aribo was unlucky not to claim an assist after Alfredo Morelos could only hit his brilliant pass against the post.
Nonetheless, it was an all-round brilliant display from the Nigerian international. And speaking following the game, Aribo revealed his recent performance is down to the freedom Gerrard has given him.
“The gaffer always says to me I am one of the rulebreakers in the team so I can carry the ball forward and aim to unlock teams, Aribo told Rangers Youtube page.
“The gaffer encourages me to be more ruthless on the ball.”
“Shooting and playing killer passes is what impacts games, passing sidewards doesn’t impact games, and it is important to be ruthless and take all the chances we get,” he added.
Aribo will hope to continue his brilliant performance when Rangers take on St. Mirren in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.
