‘I give him all the love in the world’- Belgium’s star showers praises on Victor Osimhen

The Nigerian international continues to win many admirers following his brilliant start to the campaign for the Neapolitans

Belgium star Dries Mertens is the latest big name to praise Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen following his impact in Napoli’s clash against Legia Warsaw on Thursday night.

Osimhen continued his impressive goalscoring streak after he came on to score the second goal to help Napoli beat Legia 3-0 for their first win in the Europa League this season.

It was the Nigerian international’s ninth goal in ten appearances for Luciano Spalletti’s men this season, which has drawn praises from his teammate Mertens.

The Belgian international praised Osimhen’s willingness to improve, especially after a difficult first year that was beset by injury and coronavirus problems.

“Osimhen arrived last season and had a few difficulties settling, he also had injury problems, so I tried to help him. He’s a smart lad who wants to listen and learn,” Mertens told Football Italia.

“I give him all the love in the world,” he added.

Meanwhile, Osimhen has also expressed his satisfaction following Napoli’s victory. The former Lille star took to his Twitter account to express his feeling, stating it was an important victory for the team.

Last night’s win takes Napoli to second place, level on points with Leicester City and two behind Legia.
