Ex-Super Eagles player, Michael Emenalo, has been tipped by Arsenal legend Ian Wright for the Sporting director role at Newcastle United.
The former Nigeria International has had success in similar positions in the past. Michael Emenalo was appointed as Chelsea’s Chief scout in 2007 before he was promoted to the club’s assistant coach in 2010.
In 2011, Emenalo, who represented Nigeria at the 1994 World Cup, became the Technical Director of the London side. The ex-Nigerian international was given credit for his recruitment during his time at Stamford Bridge.
Emenalo’s achievements have made Ian Wright put the Nigerian among the options as Newcastle United’s Sporting director.
Having become the richest club In the world after being purchased by PIF, Newcastle is searching for a Sporting Director.
And Wright believes Emenalo will be perfect for the job.
Wright said on the Kelly and Wrighty show as per Chronicle Live, “If they’ve got a list, and he’s not very high up on that list, then you know they have a massive problem.”
“For that man to still not be in some form of football employment, at the level of football management, is still, for me, incredible. It really is.”
“Only because it’s what they need. He’s the calibre of the person of what they need.”
Newcastle United is also said to have Marc Overmars as an option for the role. However, with Emenalo’s exploits in the Premier League for Chelsea, he could be a strong candidate.

Emenalo has an impressive C.V
Yes! he does possess an impressive CV but in a real world it matters little. Chelsea is not Newcastle.
In the real world an impressive CV doesn't matter? In what world does it matter?
