The Nigerian forward’s best was not enough to get him on the scoreboard at the Stade Auguste Delaune on matchday six of the campaign
Terem Moffi featured for three-quarters of the encounter, but Lorient and Reims could only manage a boring scoreless draw on Sunday afternoon.
Last October, when Lorient took the trip to the Stade Auguste-Delaune II, Moffi scored the third goal as further strikes from Hamel and Wissa powered Les Merlus to a 3-1 away win.
The hosts, wary of the dangers posed by the Super Eagles forward, left little room for him to wreak havoc as the centre-back trio of Andrew Gravillon, Wout Faes, and Yunis Abdelhamid kept him in check.
Moffi was withdrawn in the 76th-minute for Austrian star Adrian Grbic, but the visitors could not muster a late winner.
The 22-year-old remains a key member of Lorient’s first-team squad, though, contributing immensely to the side’s two league victories so far this term. Moffi scored the only goal in Lorient’s defeat of Monaco and netted another in the 2-1 triumph over Lille last week.
