He’s done it again- Osimhen opens his Serie A account in Napoli’s clash against Udinese

The 22-year-old scored two brilliant goals last Thursday, but on Monday, he scored a poachers goal to show he’s the complete package

Victor Osimhen opened his Serie A account this season in Napoli’s 4-0 win against Udinese at the Stadio Friuli on Monday night.

Osimhen scored his first goals of the season in Napoli’s clash against Leicester City last Thursday, and he backed up the brace with the opening goal in the encounter against Udinese.

The Nigerian international scored two quality goals against the Foxes on Thursday, but his opening strike against Udinese was more of a poachers strike.

Osimhen opened the scoring for Luciano Spalletti’s men in the 24th minute, firing into an empty net from a Lorenzo Insigne chip that appeared to be going in already.

While Insigne would be disappointed not to have been awarded the goal, it showed Osimhen’s striking instinct as a Udinese defender could’ve cleared the ball off the line if he had not applied the finishing touch.

Napoli doubled their advantage in the 35th minute through Amir Rrahmani, who finished off a well-worked freekick.

Kalidou Koulibaly made it three in the 52nd minute with a beautiful strike from inside the box. Hirving Lozano then put the icing on the cake with a fantastic curler six minutes from time.

The win lifts Napoli to the top of the table with four wins from four matches. They next face Sampdoria on Thursday.
