The Nigeria skipper has the opportunity to reach a major milestone in his international career when the Super Eagles fly out to battle against Cape Verde.
Nigeria captain Ahmed Musa could earn his 100th cap for the Super Eagles if he plays against Cape Verde. He would become the third player to achieve such a feat for Nigeria after Joseph Yobo in 2014 and Victor Enyeama in 2015.
If he plays, he would be one game away from reaching Enyeama and Yobo, who both won 101 caps each.
Musa will also be the fastest and youngest to achieve such a feat, as he will be doing so at the age of 28, eleven years after his debut for the national team.
Enyeama and Yobo got their 100th cap after 13 years, and at the time, they were 31 and 33 years old, respectively.
Since breaking into the scene in September 2010, Musa has been a regular for the Super Eagles, featuring in two World Cups and two Nations Cups.
He will want to make his achievement even sweeter as the Super Eagles go in search of victory in their second World Cup qualifier game against Cape Verde.
