The Yellow Submarine already have a Nigerian in their ranks, but they have secured another as they have all but won the race to secure the signature of another player of Nigerian descent.
Nigerian-Dutch forward Arnaut Danjuma has sealed a permanent move to Spanish Laliga side Villarreal. According to reports from transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Danjuma was signed on a five-year deal for about €20m.
Danjuma has been the subject of transfer rumours in the summer as he has been linked with moves to Aston Villa and Liverpool, but all of the talks have ended as his move to Villarreal puts an end to all the speculation.
The Lagos-born attacker made a name for himself in the Championship last season as he scored 17 goals in 35 appearances for the Cherries.
The 24-year-old is versatile, he can play all positions in attack, but his more favoured position is the left side of attack.
With his move to Villareal, Danjuma will link up with Nigeria International Samuel Chukwueze. Danjuma was born to a Dutch father and a Nigerian mother.
He has featured for the Dutch youth setup, and he has played twice for the Senior team. But according to FIFA rules, he can still switch allegiances to the Super Eagles.
