The newly-promoted Premier League played the League one side at the St. George’s Park in a pre-season friendly encounter
Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo was the star as Watford thrashed Doncaster Rovers 4-0 in a pre-season friendly game at England’s national team training base, St. George’s Park.
Etebo fired in a rocket from outside the box to give Watford the lead. He showed a glimpse of what Watford fans can expect from him with his all-round display.
Watford, who also had William Troost-Ekong, Emmanuel Dennis and Tom Dele-Bashiru, doubled their lead in the 15th minute through Troy Deeney’s header.
Dan Gosling made it three a few minutes before halftime. For the second half, Watford manager Xisco Munoz used a new set of outfield players, including Dennis and Dele-Bashiru.
However, the former was withdrawn moments later due to an injury. But despite their efforts on goal, The Hornets were only able to score once after the interval, through an Ashley Fletcher penalty.
