Forgotten Super Eagles midfielder secures move to Egyptian Premier League side

One of the most talented exports of the Nigerian Professional Football League in the past decade is on the verge of switching the Tunisian top-flight for the Egyptian elite division

Super Eagles midfielder Kingsley Sokari has agreed to join newly-promoted Egyptian Premier League side Pharco FC, as per Kingfut.

Sokari will join Pharco on a free transfer after becoming a free agent in July following a five-and-a-half-year association with Tunisian giants CS Sfaxien.

Sokari was an unknown quantity on the local scene before he made his breakthrough at Enyimba, where he was named the 2014 NPFL Newcomer of the Year.

The then-teenager later helped the People’s Elephant claim the 2015 Nigeria Professional Football League title and sealed a move to Tunisia shortly after.

That same year, Sokari was called up to the Flying Eagles, featured for the national U-23 team before earning two caps with the Super Eagles.

And after lifting two Tunisia cups, scoring 12 goals in over 135 appearances for the White and Black, the 26-year-old midfielder believes it is time for a change of scenery.

Sokari is a significant signing for Pharco FC. And the midfielder will hope to help head coach Magdy Abdel-Aaty’s men avoid getting relegated straight back to the lower division.
