The Lions missed out on Henry Onyekuru this summer but could be set to sign his international teammate before the transfer window shuts
Nigerian International Samuel Kalu has been linked with a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray. The Nigerian forward has been unsettled under new coach Petkovic, and he could leave Bordeaux before the close of the transfer window.
According to 20 minutes as per Get French Football News, Bordeaux are close to securing a deal with Galatasaray for Mostafa Mohammed, which could see Kalu go the other way.
The 24-year-old arrived from Gent three years ago for $9.35m, the sixth-highest transfer fee in Bordeaux’s history.
However, it hasn’t been easy for the 2019 Nations cup bronze medallist as Bordeaux have been in relegation fights in two of the three seasons that the Nigerian has spent at the club.
He has also had to cope with constant managerial changes. Kalu is currently in the Super Eagles camp ahead of Nigeria’s crucial World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde.
