The Turkish giants are in the market for an attacker ahead of the new Super Lig season and are set to battle it out for a Nigerian international
Super Eagles star Henry Onyekuru has spoken to two Turkish clubs over a possible permanent transfer this summer.
According to futbol Arena, Onyekuru confirmed he held talks with Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş, but he hasn’t made any decision.
The 24-year-old’s future is up in the air, although he just concluded his third loan stint with Galatasaray. The Nigerian international spent the second half of last season from Monaco with the Lions, where he scored five goals and registered four assists in 14 league games.
Galatasaray had the option to sign him permanently and were reportedly interested initially. But the club had a change of heart and decided against signing the Super Eagles star.
Olympiacos are willing to take him off the French Club’s books, but Onyekuru is only interested in a move back to Turkey.
It now remains to be seen if either Fenerbahçe or Beşiktaş will be willing to pay Monaco’s price for his services.
