The Super Eagles star came off the bench to help the Foxes salvage a draw in their pre-season game at Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium
Kelechi Iheanacho redeemed himself after he scored a penalty to help Leicester City to a 3-3 draw against QPR on Saturday afternoon.
Iheanacho had missed a penalty in Leicester City’s shootout loss to Wycombe last weekend, but he came off the bench today to help restore parity for the Premier League side.
The Foxes went into the clash against an in-form QPR side that had beaten Manchester United 4-2 in a pre-season friendly last Saturday.
The Hoops continued from where they left off as they went ahead in the 44th minute through Charlie Austin. It got worse for Leicester as Yoann Barbet doubled the home side’s advantage ten minutes after the break.
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers made nine changes after QPR scored two goals, one of which was Iheanacho. The wholesome change worked as the Foxes pulled one back through Dewsbury-Hall in the 75th minute.
It was 2-2 three minutes later as Leicester’s new boy Patson Daka got on the end of Marc Albrighton’s pass to slot home.
But QPR took the lead once again in the 82nd minute through Rob Dickie. And just as it looked like they were heading for another win against a Premier League side, the Foxes were awarded a penalty after Dieng brought down Daka.
Iheanacho stepped up to take the resulting penalty, and he duly converted by sending the keeper the wrong way.
The former Manchester City man’s strike was the last goal of the match, with the game finishing 3-3.
