The Nigerian midfielder spent a lengthy period away from the game last season but remained ahead of the chasing pack on the continent
No player across Europe’s top five leagues has made more tackle than Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi in the last two years, as noted by respected statistics platform Whoscored.
Since August 2019, Ndidi has successfully completed 224 tackles to beat Manchester United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka – who made 217 tackles – to second place.
Highly-rated RC Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga follows suit in the third spot with 203 tackles.
With such high-level efficiency, it is no surprise that Ndidi continues to be regarded as one of the finest footballers in his position.
The Leicester City star is also one of Nigeria’s most valuable players and is constantly linked to a move to some of the world’s biggest clubs.
The 24-year-old missed several weeks of action last season due to an adductor injury, which required surgery.
Still, the former Genk star showed his worth as he played a critical role in helping Brendan Rodgers’ men lift the English FA Cup in May.
Leicester City will compete in the Europa League next season after missing out on Champions League football on the last day of the 2020/21 campaign.
